About the Role

Selected candidate will work as analytics professional in the Home Lending Business Insights and Reporting team and will be responsible for effective delivery of projects and reports as per the business priority. The incumbent is expected to be a technical expert in data analytics, insights and reporting and value addition to the projects. Candidate is expected to have good command over various tools and technologies such as Tableau, SQL (Teradata, SQL Server etc.), Tableau Prep, PowerBI and MS Office (Excel, PPT, Word etc.). Sound knowledge of US Home Mortgage Servicing is a must. Experience in tools such as SAP BO, SSRS, Alteryx, QlikSense, Python, Toad etc. would be an added advantage.

Department Overview: Product, Analytics & Modeling (PAM) team is a community of data analytics professionals and brings a competency-based approach to the international talent pool focusing on analytical requirements. PAM encompasses roles that deliver insights and analysis based on skills, experience and judgment. Team Members exercise this judgment under general direction versus rule-driven processing. Processes and services performed in this area tend to be based on skills, domain knowledge and intellectual capability.



This position aligns with the Business Insights & Analytics (BIA) team within Wells Fargo Home Lending WFIP Hiring as part of Consumer Lending (CL) PAM team. The US production team performs reporting and delivers analytics to support business insights and management decisions for WFHL Production. The Production team is made up of nearly 20,000 team members who provide sales, fulfillment, underwriting, operations, quality, compliance, and support functions for the National Consumer Lending channel. This BIA team will leverage the data to extract & generate insights to make the WHFL productions team more effective & efficient with their insights and recommendations. To begin with, the BIA team will have migration of analytic queries to new data sources as a primary responsibility in the short term and lay the foundation of enhancing the analytical support.

In this role, you will:
  • Build Various dashboards in Tableau with SQL as the back end data.
  • Deep dive into data and identify cause for variation in trends of key metrics in monthly reports/data marts.
  • Clearly understand and articulate business requirements by leveraging domain understanding of line of business & product/ function and deliver the results underlining the business problem and appropriate business decision levers.
  • Identify & leverage appropriate analytical approach from a wide toolkit to make data driven recommendation.
  • Support data migrations, system transitions, data-mapping, data lineage, data reconciliation and documentation in alignment to policy and governance
  • Support research, analysis and development of various risk data-fields, data-marts and meta-data
  • Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in Analytics projects with knowledge of business analysis and reporting.
  • Hands on experience of working with Tableau and SQL is a must.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address servicing challenges and optimize processes.
  • BI: experience with creating visualizations. Dashboarding experience involving multiple views that all respond to navigation/filter/etc. Ability to publish that can be reused for across dashboards/workbooks and used for self-service by other analysts working on the same domain (and/or, to reuse cube created by others where expedient). Tableau is a must. Power BI /or SSRS are desirable(these skills are transferable across tools as well).
  • SQL: access, combine, calculate. Create temp tables. Structure data for common BI needs such as drilling or side-by-side comparison, with BI tool recalculating measures as needed.
  • ETL : Knowledge on Tableau Prep and/or Alteryx a plus.
  • Simple work documentation skills. Requirements, query documentation, testing.
  • Detail oriented. Accuracy is key.
  • Consultative skills: should have the ability to rationalize business need and solution design from people not knowing how to ask precisely for what they need.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management.
  • Experience in Analytics, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with SAP BO (Business Objects) and SSRs (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Good to have certifications in BI Reporting tools Data Management, or Data Engineering.
  • Domain understanding of home lending and its complete product lifecycle (Ops, Sales, Servicing, Risk) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of business drivers and industry trends of lending products & home lending in specific.
  • Detail oriented, results driven, and can navigate in a quickly changing and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Expected to learn the business aspects quickly, multitask and prioritize between projects.
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, driven and performance-oriented; possesses a strong work ethic and good team player.
